Professional Clubs Football in the Community Schemes
Professional clubs "Football in the Community" (FITC) schemes in the North West have been actively involved in developing and supporting NFA SOCCERSKILLS. They have been involved in testing and supporting the development of each of the 35 skill levels detailed in the NFA SOCCERSKILLS manual. The scheme is easy to deliver and is enjoyed by girls and boys of all abilities. The scheme also raises additional finance for your club, as NFA SOCCERSKILLS awards are purchased at £1.50 and we recommend they are sold to parents/guardians for £3, retaining the surplus for your clubs funds.
More than that, it works towards the KS1, 2 and 3 attainment descriptors of the National Curriculum therefore supports existing FITC programmes in local schools. Prior to launching NFA SOCCERSKILLS in the North West, over 8 Professional clubs FITC schemes registered to participate in the scheme.
The NFA SOCCERSKILLS manual provides all of the information you will need to deliver the scheme including testing and developing junior footballers to qualify for the award

"The tests are better than the old F.A. Coca Cola awards because there are no times attached to them, they purely focus upon skill development"

NFA SOCCERSKILLS has developed 35 unique SOCCERSKILLS awards for each level of attainment. The awards signify the level of attainment reached by the player. Depending on their skill level, not everyone will start at level 1. The scheme has been developed to allow more experienced players to enter the scheme at levels 3 or 4.
- How many skill levels are there within the scheme and can the players receive an NFA SOCCERSKILLS award for each skill level?
Following extensive research
NFA SOCCERSKILLS believe the core fundamental skills are required to actively participate in football. Considered opinion within the Professional Football Coaching community believe these are:
- Dribbling
- Juggling
- Passing and Receiving
- Skillful Moves
- Turns and Burns
These are the core foundation skills required for any player. NFA SOCCERSKILLS has developed 7 levels of achievement for each of the above skills therefore each junior player has the ability to earn up to 35 awards. In reality not every player will earn all 35 awards.
The more experienced junior players will start at level 3 or 4, which is why the scheme is so successful, it has been designed to support players at all levels and ages. At all levels, when successfully completing a test, a player will be eligible for a NFA SOCCERSKILLS Award.
