NFA SOCCERSKILLS is easy to deliver and is enjoyed by girls and boys of all abilities. More than that, it is aligned with the National Curriculum as it works towards the KS1, 2 and 3 attainment targets. The scheme also raises additional finance for your school, as the NFA SOCCERSKILLS awards are purchased at £1.50 and we recommend they are sold to parents and guardians for £3, retaining the surplus for your school funds.
How can I deliver NFA SOCCERSKILLS?
The NFA SOCCERSKILLS manual provides all of the information you will need to deliver football skills training. In summary:
- The scheme can be run anywhere, you do not need goal posts or even a football pitch!
- It's easy to use and structured similar to a normal activity lesson plan
- Support the development of junior footballers technical skills 4-14 year old
- Tailored to an individual child's ability. You don't need previous football experience but it also supports the development of experienced players
- Sensitive to LTAD (Long Term Athletic Development) and Differentiation using STEP (Space Task Equipment People) principles
- Motivates, encourages and rewards individual participation and development
The scheme has been designed with significant input from junior footballers, physical education teachers and professional football coaches, who have participated in over 4,000 trials. - What is NFA SOCCERSKILLS?
A tried and tested football training program that shows guaranteed results in the 4 to 14 age range.
- What do junior footballers receive for participating?
All junior footballers participating in the NFA SOCCERSKILLS scheme receive structured coaching, that rewards and encourages skills development. All Junior Footballers, when successfully passing a skill test, will be eligible to receive an award for their achievements. Each time they develop their skills, they can achieve a higher level award to recognise their achievements
- How can my school participate in NFA SOCCERSKILLS?
Simply complete the NFA SOCCERSKILLS registration process and we will send you a
NFA SOCCERSKILLS Development Manual. This includes all you need to successfully rollout the scheme within your school. This includes the additional benefit of contributing towards raising additional funds for your school.

The skills matrix Table 1 below illustrates how progress can be made in each skill at a pace to suit the individual development of each player. Having successfully completed the skills test, the player is eligible for an

- What are the 35 unique NFA SOCCERSKILLS awards?
NFA SOCCERSKILLS has developed 35 unique SOCCERSKILLS awards for each level of attainment. The awards signify the level of attainment reached by the player. Depending on their skill level, not everyone will start at level 1. The scheme has been developed to allow more experienced players to enter the scheme at levels 3 or 4.
- Is there any support our school can obtain to help deliver NFA SOCCERSKILLS?
Yes, Professional Football Clubs all have Football in the Community schemes and the NFA SOCCERSKILLS helpline is available to provide support. A number of clubs are actively participating in NFA SOCCERSKILLS. Why not give your local club a call?
